Job summary

The Timken Company is seeking 2nd Shift Assembly Machinists to set up and operate manual lathes, tapping presses, and fit drills within our assembly departments. The role requires reading blueprints, operating gauges, and maintaining quality per print.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), health, dental, vision, and paid time off; the hourly pay ranges from $19.50 to $22.50, commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position in Montgomery, AL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required (validation).
• Previous manufacturing experience with general machine aptitude.
• Ability to accurately use calipers, gauges and micrometer.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Prior manufacturing and machine operating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, tapping presses, and fit drills in assembly departments.
• Select and change fixtures, plugs, arbors, drill bits and taps.
• Set speed and stroke length, deburr and tap parts, use gauges.
• Load parts, check quality per print and complete setup paperwork.
• Move parts, wash them, and maintain machine fluids and belts.
