Job summary

The Timken Company is seeking 2nd Shift Assembly Machinists to set up and operate manual lathes, tapping presses, and fit drills in our assembly departments. This full-time role offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (validation is required).
• Previous manufacturing experience with general machine aptitude.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Prior manufacturing and machine operating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, tapping presses, and fit drills.
• Select and change fixtures, plugs, arbors, drill bits and taps.
• Set speed and stroke length of drill press, deburr parts and tap parts, use thread and plug gauges.
• Run 1st piece part, make adjustments to attain quality per print specifications and complete setup paperwork.
• Load parts on chuck or plug, check parts at designated intervals and maintain quality.
