Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Technician II - Second Shift to join our Kansas site team. The role involves learning basic skills to conduct studies, animal husbandry, data collection, dosing, and potential euthanasia, with a focus on GLP-compliant workflow and safe animal care.

The position supports rapid study results for clients and offers opportunities for career growth within the Safety Assessment and Discovery units.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: At least 6 months of animal laboratory and/or relevant species handling experience.
• ALAT certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure good welfare and humane care for all animals.
• Perform basic skills of the department including animal handling/restraint, housing maintenance, and feeding procedures; collecting data and observing animals; administering doses and performing euthanasia when needed.
• Collect, document, review, and verify data.
• Follow quality control requirements and SOPs.
