Job summary

Textron Systems – ATAC is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I for the second shift to perform maintenance on ATAC aircraft and support safe launch/recovery operations at permanent and detachment sites.

The role requires a valid A&P or military maintenance equivalency, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and experience with inspections and troubleshooting aircraft systems. Training and leadership on maintenance teams are part of the responsibilities, with detachment leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• A&P certification or military maintenance equivalency required.
• Unsupervised maintenance capability and ability to supervise junior mechanics.
• Must hold or have held a QAR or engine turn qualification.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb in aircraft, and stand for long periods.
• Experience troubleshooting aircraft systems and GOPs/safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on ATAC aircraft and support launch/recovery at sites.
• Proficient on one type/model aircraft; assist on additional types/models.
• Utilize AMS program for maintenance actions.
• Train maintenance personnel and manage assigned programs.
• Coordinate detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs as needed.
• Obtain and maintain Detachment Lead qualification.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, and controls.
• Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, and other inspections.
• Adjust/repair electrical wiring and perform preflight thru post-flight checks.
• Interpret blueprints and manufacturers’ manuals to solve problems.
