Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
• Strengthen phonics, word recognition, reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
• Teach scholars to organize ideas and develop clear written responses and connected paragraphs.
• Build understanding of place value, addition, subtraction, measurement, and mathematical problem-solving.
• Use assessments and classroom observations to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
• Provide differentiated lessons, small-group instruction, and targeted interventions.
• Maintain a structured classroom and reinforce schoolwide SOAR expectations.
• Address behavioral concerns through redirection, documentation, and collaboration with families and support staff.
• Collaborate with exceptional children's and English learner staff to implement required accommodations and services.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families.
• Participate in instructional coaching, professional development, team meetings, and assigned supervision duties.
