Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Valid North Carolina elementary teaching license preferred or eligible for licensure.
• Strong knowledge of foundational literacy and early mathematics instruction.
• Effective classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
• Teach phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, reading fluency, comprehension, and early writing.
• Build mathematical understanding through number sense, addition, subtraction, and problem-solving.
• Use assessments and observations to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
• Provide differentiated lessons, small-group instruction, and targeted interventions.
• Establish routines and reinforce SOAR expectations.
• Address behavioral concerns through redirection and collaboration with families and support staff.
• Collaborate with exceptional children’s and English learner staff for accommodations and services.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and progress records.
• Participate in coaching, PD, team meetings, and supervision duties.
