Job summary

Matchbook Learning in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Second Grade teacher to provide rigorous ELA and Math instruction aligned to curriculum. You will engage multilingual learners and work within a supportive team to keep students at the center of every lesson.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Valid Indiana teaching license OR enrolled in / willing to enroll in a state-approved transition-to-teaching program
• Genuine growth mindset and openness to coaching and feedback
• Commitment to equity, high expectations, and serving students with high needs

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily ELA and Math instruction with fidelity to school curriculum.
• Use weekly/bi-weekly data to drive instruction and small-group work.
• Implement SIOP-aligned strategies to support Multilingual Learners.
• Conduct regular student conferencing to know each child as an individual learner.
• Maintain a structured, positive classroom using PBIS systems.
• Actively participate in coaching cycles, feedback sessions, and PD.
• Build authentic relationships with families through consistent communication.
• Collaborate with restorative team, MLL director, SPED staff, and intervention teachers.
• Support morning circles and school-wide culture initiatives.
• Maintain accurate student records and enter grades in a timely manner.
