Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching license or ability to obtain.
• Experience teaching in primary grades (K–2).
• Experience working with multilingual learners/English Learners (EL).
• Structured literacy approaches like Orton-Gillingham or UFLI Foundations preferred.
• Understanding of literacy instruction aligned with the science of reading.
• Familiarity with PBIS, restorative practices, or social-emotional learning frameworks.
• Experience using data-driven instruction and intervention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality instruction in literacy, math, and core subjects.
• Provide explicit, systematic literacy instruction aligned with the science of reading.
• Differentiate instruction for multilingual learners and diverse needs.
• Create a positive classroom environment supporting engagement and self-regulation.
• Implement PBIS and school-wide expectations with fidelity.
• Use data to monitor student progress and inform decisions.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, SPED and EL staff, and support personnel.
• Communicate regularly with families about progress and expectations.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school culture.
• Maintain accurate records, including assessments and documentation.
• Complete Indiana background checks and drug screen.
