Summary

Responsible for assisting in preparing and cooking food items in specific sections or stations within the kitchen.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  • Assist at a specific station or section within the kitchen, such as grill, saute, pantry, or pastry.
  • Utilize a variety of cooking techniques, such as grilling, frying, baking, roasting, and sauteing, to prepare dishes.
  • Assist in the execution of menu items, ensuring that dishes are prepared accurately, consistently, and with attention to detail.
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and hygienic working environment.
  • Keep workstations, equipment, and utensils clean, organized, and sanitized.
Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Culinary Arts preferred.

Experience

Line Cook or Related Experience 3 - 5 years preferred.

  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, knife skills, seasoning, and flavor profiles.
  • Understanding of food safety principles, including proper food handling, storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices.
