Accelera in Westford, MA is seeking an SEC Reporting Senior Accountant to support public company reporting, monthly close, technical accounting, audits, and internal controls. A path toward SEC Reporting Senior Manager may develop over time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • At least three years of progressive accounting experience including technical accounting, close, and financial reporting.
  • Public company experience and corporate close would be a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Experience with Tier 1 ERP systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, or SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q), proxy materials, XBRL tagging, footnotes, and earnings releases.
  • Prepare and review cash flow and stockholders’ equity statements and assist close judgments.
  • Coordinate annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors and GAAP checklists.
  • Research accounting topics such as leases, capitalized software, and stock-based compensation.
  • Document, assess, and improve SOX controls and internal controls processes.
  • Coordinate international audits and statutory filings under IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Collaborate with legal, auditors, IR, and department leaders to resolve reporting comments.
  • Assess new accounting standards and equity reporting and improve policies.

Job description

The annual base salary range is $120,000-$130,000, plus a 10% annual bonus and 20% RSUs. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, business needs, and location.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist with SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, proxy materials, XBRL tagging, financial statement footnotes, and earnings releases.
  • Prepare and review cash flow and stockholders’ equity statements and support judgmental accounting and reconciliations during the close.
  • Coordinate annual audit and quarterly review requests with external auditors, including GAAP checklists, financial analytics, and related party information.
  • Research accounting and reporting topics such as leases, capitalized software, and stock based compensation.
  • Document, assess, and improve internal controls and SOX compliance processes.
  • Coordinate international audits and statutory filings under IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Work with legal teams, auditors, investor relations, department leaders, and advisors to resolve reporting comments.
  • Assess new accounting standards, support equity administration and stock compensation reporting, and improve accounting policies and processes.
Qualifications

  • At least three years of progressive accounting experience, including technical accounting, monthly close, and financial reporting.
  • Corporate close and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Experience with a Tier 1 ERP system such as Oracle, NetSuite, or SAP preferred.
  • XBRL, ActiveDisclosure, DFIN, or Workiva experience is a plus; interest in equity and stock compensation tools is valued.
