Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking an External Financial Reporting Manager to lead the external reporting team in Winona, MN. You will ensure accuracy and timeliness of all external financial reporting, research complex accounting matters, and partner with stakeholders to support reporting deliverables.

The role requires strong US GAAP knowledge, leadership, and communication skills, with oversight of EDGAR filings and investor relations materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 3+ years progressive accounting experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements and footnotes.
• US GAAP and internal controls knowledge.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of the External Reporting team.
• Oversee preparation/review of external financial statements and MD&A under US GAAP.
• Manage SEC filings including 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and related documents.
• Oversee XBRL tagging and EDGAR submissions.
• Coordinate with auditors, senior leaders and investors on reporting timelines.
