Lawyers for Justice in Seattle seeks a Senior Attorney to manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. The role includes providing guidance to associates and developing case strategy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, including discovery, oral advocacy and appearances in court.
• Licensed to practice law in Washington or eligible for admission to the Washington Bar.
• Class actions, complex litigation, and wage-and-hour experience is a plus; travel on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a caseload of wage-and-hour, class and representative actions against large employers.
• Develop case strategy and oversee associates; draft and argue motions.
• Take and defend depositions; conduct and respond to discovery; settlements negotiations.
• Appear in court for hearings and trial; mentor junior attorneys on litigation practices.

Description

The Senior Attorney will manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies, while also providing guidance and oversight to associate attorneys. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing case strategy; conducting and responding to complex discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing dispositive and class certification motions; leading settlement negotiations; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and mentoring junior attorneys on litigation best practices. Our agenda is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, highly experienced litigator with a strong track record in complex or class action litigation who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in Washington or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the Washington Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Washington and have minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.

License/Certification
