Job summary

Refugee Women's Alliance (ReWA) is seeking an SPP Assistant Teacher for the Seattle Preschool Program at the MLK Early Learning Center in Seattle, WA. You will support the Lead Teacher with curriculum, routine, and learning activities in a multilingual, dual-language environment.

The role requires meeting DEEL/MERIT qualifications, typically an AA in ECE or equivalent coursework, and experience in early childhood settings. Competitive hourly pay is offered with benefits and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Meet current DEEL/MERIT qualification requirements for an SPP Assistant Teacher.
• Generally, this includes an AA in ECE or an associate degree with required ECE coursework.
• Ability to meet Washington State licensing, background check, health and safety and SPP requirements.
• Experience in early learning, preschool, or related educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Lead Teacher to implement curriculum and daily activities.
• Support classroom routines, transitions, and small-group activities.
• Help create a safe, engaging, culturally responsive classroom environment.
• Participate in child observations and documentation for SPP assessment processes.
