Ampersand Therapy in Seattle, WA is hiring an itinerant Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time role supports students across multiple grade levels in school-based settings and travels between sites.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid state teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement, a related degree, and strong collaboration and communication skills. The position offers W-2 employment, competitive pay, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in deaf education, special education, or a related field.
• Valid state teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement.
• Experience supporting students across multiple grade levels preferred.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel between school sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Assess students’ communication, language, academic, and accessibility needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs.
• Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to support student access.
• Consult with general education teachers and school teams regarding accommodations.
• Support the use of hearing technology, assistive devices, and communication systems.
• Collaborate with families, interpreters, audiologists, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate progress notes, service records, and educational documentation.
• Travel between assigned school sites as needed.

Education
