Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks an experienced BIW design engineer to drive seating system development from concept through production. You will lead design efforts using CATIA V5/V6 and focus on upper/underbody components, packaging, and cross-functional integration.

Responsibilities include coordinating DFMEA, DVP, and Functional Safety deliverables, tracking milestones with KPI tools, and collaborating with clients to optimize cost, mass, joining methods, and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of seating system design experience.
• CATIA V5/V6 experience with surface modelling.
• Knowledge of FMVSS and ECE regulatory requirements; occupant safety.
• DFM and DFA understanding.
• Ability to coordinate offshore tasks with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support BIW DFMEAs, DVPs and Functional Safety deliverables through milestones.
• Deliver project-based goals set by the program management team.
• Define and mature critical sections; packaging; develop upper and underbody components.
• Integrate recommendations into product design.
• Track status vs milestones using KPI tracking tools.
• Collaborate with clients on design trade-offs (cost, mass, joining methods, formability, performance).
• Create complex underbody BIW data design incorporating best practices.

Job description

• Design & Development of Seating systems with 10+ Years experience
• Design of all seating parts - Sheet metal, plastics and surrounding parts from the concept to mass production
• 3D, 2D and 3DA experience in Catia V5 & Catia V6 with good Surface modelling skills.
• Design Considering the Package, styling, vehicle regulation & performance
• Experience in FMVSS, ECE regulatory requirements
• Good knowledge in Occupant safety regulation
• Need to understand the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & DFA
• Intermediate checking with cross functional team and check Module level
• Offshore coordination for tasks on schedule with desired qulaity
• Guide team on continuous quality improvement

Supporting BIW DFMEA’s, DVP’s & Functional Safety deliverables through project milestones at Systems Level.

Candidate will deliver project-based goals set by the program management team.

The scope of the role covers all BIW projects from, feasibility through to production vehicles. Specific areas of System Focus are :-

• Defining and Maturing critical sections
• Packaging
• Develop and execute Upper body and underbody components
• Integrate recommendations into product design

The role covers BIW projects from feasibility through to production

Responsible for ensuring the Body System content is delivered robustly on-time

To accurately track status versus project milestones, implement & monitor status utilizing KPI tracking tools.

Actively engage with client to collaborate on design projects for trading off cost, mass, joining methods, formability, and structural performance.

Ability to create complex underbody BIW data design incorporating best practice

Propose and promote design improvement approaches including cost reduction

Responsible for leading Body in White System Integration requirements

Supporting BIW DFMEA’s, DVP’s & Functional Safety deliverables through project milestones at Systems Level.
