River Valley Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team, supporting both outpatient care and procedural services in a busy general practice near Pittsburgh, PA.

You will work across exam rooms and procedures, educate clients, assist in surgery, and maintain comprehensive medical records to ensure high-quality patient care. The role offers full-time or part-time options with flexible scheduling, including rotating Saturday shifts and occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years veterinary assistant experience.
• Proficiency in client education and communication.
• Proficiency in intake, medical histories, and vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Build strong client relationships with clear, compassionate communication and education during visits.
• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Assist in surgery: patient prep, setup, and recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients.
• Identify patient concerns and support efficient case management across the hospital.
• Provide education and attentive service to clients.
