Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional in Beaufort, SC. You will prepare accurate returns for diverse clients, interview clients to understand financial situations, and identify tax savings opportunities.

This in-person role offers industry-leading training and a competitive hourly rate. You’ll build lasting client relationships, provide IRS support and audit guidance when needed, and collaborate with a team in a client-focused office.

Qualifications

• Completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment 1.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications — then provide clear, personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
