Job summary

Rummel Construction, Inc. is seeking an Operator II to safely operate heavy equipment and support construction projects on schedule and within budget. You will work with crew members and subcontractors to ensure high-quality results and efficient workflows.

The role requires reading construction plans, strong communication, and the ability to analyze site data. Prior heavy equipment experience in a construction setting is preferred, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans/specifications.
• Good communication and analytical skills for team coordination and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (bulldozers, excavators, loaders) to move materials and support projects.
• Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
• Communicate with crew members and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with crew and subcontractors.
• Identify and resolve issues arising on construction sites and propose improvements.
• Provide on-the-job training to new operators and enforce safety procedures.
