Job summary

FIRSTCALL MECHANICAL GROUP LLC is seeking a skilled HVAC Sheet Metal Installer to join our Charlotte team. You will install sheet metal ductwork on commercial projects, read blueprints, and uphold safety standards to meet project timelines.

Collaborate with foremen and project managers, maintain high-quality workmanship, and ensure on-site safety and efficiency on diverse facilities across the Carolinas.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC sheet metal installation (preferred).
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and ductwork installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components, including fittings, dampers, and supports.
• Read and interpret mechanical plans, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal materials for installation.
• Assist with the layout and installation of HVAC systems in commercial settings.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site.
• Coordinate with foremen and other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Identify and report installation issues or discrepancies to leadership.
• Properly use and maintain tools and equipment.
• Support other crew members as needed to meet project deadlines.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with company standards.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a skilledHVAC Sheet Metal Installerto join our fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation of sheet metal components on commercial HVAC projects. This role is hands-on and focused on executing high-quality work in the field while maintaining safety standards and meeting project timelines. The Sheet Metal Installer will work closely with foremen, project managers, and other trades to ensure successful project completion.

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

This position reports to the local Branch Leader.

• Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow instructions, identify basic issues in the field, and elevate concerns appropriately.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in a field environment across commercial construction sites. Exposure to varying weather conditions, heights, confined spaces, and loud environments is expected.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders. Must be able to use hands to handle tools and materials and lift/move up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
