FirstCall Mechanical is seeking an experienced Seasoned Commercial HVAC Installation Mechanic to join our fast-growing team in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will install equipment and duct work with a high level of customer service, safety, and quality in mind.

We value skilled professionals who can read blueprints, fabricate duct pieces, and coordinate with general contractors. This role requires a valid driver’s license, physical stamina, and flexibility for on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in install mechanic.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Experienced with stick welding and TIG.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, to install HVAC equipment.
• Physical ability to lift 50–75 pounds and perform tasks in awkward spaces.

Responsibilities

• Independently install equipment and duck work.
• Complete paperwork daily and record materials used on each job.
• Coordinate with general contractors in other trades for duct work installation.
• Layout roof curbs and fabricate duct fittings as needed.
• Read blueprints and lay out ductwork accurately.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Seasoned Commercial HVAC Installation Mechanic to join our fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently install equipment and duck work
• Complete paperwork daily, and record materials used on each job, in an accurate manner
• Coordinate with general contractors in other trades on installing equipment and duct work
• Ability to layout roof curbs
• Ability to fabricate duct fittings and lay out job without supervision
• Ability to read blueprints and lay out duct
• Create a Material list off of blueprints
• Perform all jobs with safety first in mind

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industry
• Elite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC needs

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

This position reports to the local Install Manager and is responsible for engaging with the install team and all of our customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience in install mechanic
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
• Experienced with stick welding and TIG
• Visual acuity sufficient to read instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, to install and replace HVAC equipment and parts
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate, or learn to operate, all necessary tools and equipment
• Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
• Ability to frequently lift 75 pounds and ability to lift and regularly carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Sufficient physical ability to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by projects
• Physical ability to endure high and low outside temperatures
