Job summary

FirstCall Mechanical in Asheville, NC seeks an experienced Seasoned Commercial HVAC Installation Mechanic to support a fast-growing team. You will independently install equipment and ductwork, read blueprints, and coordinate with general contractors to ensure quality installations.

The ideal candidate has 3–6+ years of relevant field experience, a valid driver's license, OSHA 10 certification, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of relevant experience.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work from ladders or scaffolding.
• Flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently install equipment and ductwork.
• Complete paperwork daily, and record materials used on each job, in an accurate manner.
• Coordinate with general contractors in other trades on installing equipment and duct work.
• Ability to layout roof curbs.
• Ability to fabricate duct fittings and lay out job without supervision.
• Ability to read blueprints and lay out duct.
• Create a Material list off of blueprints.
• Perform all jobs with safety first in mind.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Seasoned Commercial HVAC Installation Mechanic to join our fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently install equipment and ductwork
• Complete paperwork daily, and record materials used on each job, in an accurate manner
• Coordinate with general contractors in other trades on installing equipment and duct work
• Ability to layout roof curbs
• Ability to fabricate duct fittings and lay out job without supervision
• Ability to read blueprints and lay out duct
• Create a Material list off of blueprints
• Perform all jobs with safety first in mind

Accountabilities

• Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industry
• Elite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC needs

This position reports to the local Branch Manager and is responsible for engaging with the install team and all of our customers.

Qualifications

• 3-6+ years of relevant experience
• Valid Driver's License w/acceptable driving record
• OSHA 10 required
• Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret State Mechanical Codes
• Ability to frequently lift 75 pounds and ability to lift and regularly carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Sufficient physical ability to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by projects

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
