Job summary

The City of Angleton is seeking a Seasonal Program Athletics Assistant to lead and supervise the Winter Youth Volleyball League and assist with other winter recreation programs.

You will support league operations, oversee staff and referees, ensure participant safety, and help maintain fair, organized games throughout training and events. This role requires cavailability for specific dates and a commitment to a safe, fun environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently enrolled in high school.
• Some volleyball or officiating experience required.
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license preferred.
• Current certification in First Aid and CPR, or the ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage participants in volleyball league and other athletic programs.
• Attend all required training, staff meetings, and scheduled work dates.
• Officiate youth volleyball games and assist with enforcing league rules and standards.
• Accurately keep score, track time, and manage game flow during volleyball games and events.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring activities and enforcing rules.
• Maintain control of games and activities with fairness, consistency, and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly with participants, coaches, staff, and spectators.
• Monitor behavior and address unsportsmanlike conduct or rule violations appropriately.
• Inspect courts, tracks, and equipment to ensure safe playing conditions.
• Set up and break down equipment for practices, games, and events.
• Respond to incidents or emergencies and report issues to supervisors promptly.
• Support a positive, fun, and structured environment that promotes teamwork and sportsmanship.
