Job summary

Town of Barnstable is seeking enthusiastic individuals to serve as Volleyball Recreation Assistants for our Fall Youth Volleyball Program. This seasonal role focuses on leading and supervising activities for students in grades 2-5, delivering age-appropriate instruction in accordance with the Recreation Division's standards and policies.

Responsibilities include supervising participants, implementing drills and practice plans, and promoting teamwork, safety, and good sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and gameplay.
• Experience playing or coaching volleyball.
• Experience working with children in a group setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach youth volleyball participants in a fun supportive setting.
• Implement practice plans and skill-building activities.
• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and safety at all times.
• Ensure all equipment is used appropriately and safely.
• Communicate effectively with participants and Recreation staff.
