Job summary

City of Temple is seeking a Senior Youth Leader to supervise Afterschool participants and lead activities under the supervision of a Recreation Specialist. This seasonal role requires flexibility to work weekends and holidays and to assist in other divisions as needed.

You will supervise children aged 5-13 in various settings, develop and implement lesson plans, and support meals, registrations, and daily center operations while ensuring safety and high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years of high school completed.
• At least one season in a childcare environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Food handler license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Responsibilities

• Supervise children aged 5-13 in indoor and outdoor settings.
• Lead and supervise the Youth Leader team.
• Develop and implement lesson plans for recreation and enrichment.
• Provide excellent service and communicate with children, parents, and staff.
• Receive money, records registrations and memberships.
• Perform facility attendant duties and oversee inventory.
• Handle daily tasks including cleaning, phones, and office duties.
• Maintain records and prepare reports as required.
