Job summary

The City of Steamboat Springs is seeking Youth Group Leaders for school-year programs in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This seasonal role supports after-school, summer camps, and school-break activities, with hours up to 40 per week.

You will work under Recreation Coordinators and help run activities, supervise youth, and ensure safety and compliance. The 2026-2027 school year runs Aug 19, 2026 to Jun 2, 2027.

Qualifications

• Must have passion for working with children.
• Knowledge of recreation philosophy, planning and administration.
• Ability to lead and participate in camp activities and work in varying climates.

Responsibilities

• Work as general staff member in seasonal programs during scheduled hours, including nights and weekends.
• Plan and execute daily activities in a safe, age-appropriate environment.
• Enforce program rules and act as liaison between participants, families and Recreation Division.
• Maintain inventory and safety of program supplies, facilities, equipment, tools, and vehicles.
