Job summary

Strategic Therapy Associates Inc is seeking an entry-level Seasonal Water Utility Worker to support the town's water facilities and distribution system. This role involves maintenance, meter reading, hydrant servicing, and basic field tasks under supervision.

Work hours are 35–40 per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a duration of about three months. The position pays $18.50 per hour and starts in Fall/Winter, offering hands-on experience in municipal utilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of utility, maintenance or construction experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, maintains and/or repairs utility infrastructure, including water meters, hydrants, service lines and stormwater.
• Performs labor in construction, reconstruction and maintenance projects, such as pavement repair and trenching.
• Reads water meters for billing; notes unusual readings and initiates corrective action.
• Performs water service disconnects, reconnects and new service orders as directed.
• Responds to complaints such as water leaks, pressure loss, and no water, and reports findings.
• Installs water mains, services, hydrants and backflow devices; assists in shutting off sections of mains.
• Maintains records of inspections and maintenance activities.
• Notifies residents about planned water service interruptions.
