Job summary

Catbird is seeking temporary full-time Warehouse Assistants for the holiday season. The role requires open availability from September to December, and overtime may be necessary. Pay is $18 per hour with varying shifts, including some weekends.

You will be cross-trained across departments to support packing, receiving, and stock replenishment. You’ll handle delicate jewelry items, label and package products, and work to keep a clean, efficient workspace while meeting daily packing goals.

Job description

Catbird is seeking temporary full-time Warehouse Assistants to join us for the holiday season.

MUST have open availability during the busy holiday season - September through December (Please do not apply if you know you will be away during that time).

Hours will vary - some weekends will be required. Rate is $18/hr. Must be able to work overtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Willingness to be cross-trained across various departments to assist with operational demands and capable of pivoting based on evolving operational needs
• Pick, pack, and ship e-commerce and retail orders using a handheld device
• Receive and put away merchandise
• Carefully handle and accurately pack small, delicate jewelry items (e.g. necklaces, rings, earrings)
• Assembly and prep work (build shipping boxes, label and package product, kit gifts)
• Ability to recognize order issues and item quantity/quality issues and report it immediately to leadership team
• Maintain standard productivity level while ensuring accuracy
• Develop familiarity and knowledge of company’s product line
• Label and package delicate product, ensuring label and quantity accuracy in adherence to the packing guidelines
• Inspect product for quality issues
• Replenish stock from overstock locations into pick bins
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily packing goals
• Must be able to work independently
• May be required to squat, frequently bend, or utilize a step stool to retrieve stock located at various heights
• Some tasks require the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time with occasional walking; while other tasks require the need to sit for 75% of your shift; you will need to use both hands and wrists for repetitive motion
• Promote a respectful environment through collaborative teamwork and maintaining personal ownership of results
• Keep a clean and organized work station; replenish stock supplies as needed
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and have good communication skills
• Basic mathematical proficiency is required
• Adhere to our seasonal time and attendance policy, safety policy, and behavioral policy
• Must be available to work different shifts; start times vary- as early as 7 a.m. or as late as 7:30 p.m.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Great at (and enjoy!) making a pretty package quickly
• Prior warehouse experience is desired
• Pallet jack handling is not necessary but a plus
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Prior knowledge of warehouse data system (WMS) is desired
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with others

Compensation: $18/hr
