Job summary

National Audubon Society seeks a Center Assistant to support Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples, FL. This on-site, full-time seasonal role handles admissions, sales at the Nature Store and Rooney Cafe, member services, visitor assistance, and information delivery about sanctuary activities.

The position runs December 2026 through April 2027, up to 37.5 hours weekly, at $19.00 per hour, with a focus on customer service, cash handling, and teamwork in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, retail, or administrative support.
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to follow directions and work autonomously.
• Ability to quickly learn a POS/ticketing database.
• Ability to handle cash and card transactions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and a welcoming environment for guests and volunteers.
• Support retail, admission, and operations at the Blair Visitor Center.
• Promote, sell, and renew memberships.
• Manage the Center's main phone line and route inquiries.
• Provide up-to-date information on Sanctuary activities and events.
• Assist with special events and end-of-day closure.
