Job summary

National Audubon Society, Inc. is seeking a Senior Center Assistant to support Blair Visitor Center operations at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. The role is full-time, on-site, 40 hours per week with shifts typically 7:30 am–5:30 pm and may vary seasonally.

Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $24.50 per hour. Responsibilities include admissions, retail and cafe operations, membership sales, and visitor assistance.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required and 0-1 years of experience.
• Commitment to Audubon’s organizational values and conservation mission.
• Experience in a customer service, retail, or administrative support role.
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to learn a point of sale/ticketing database and handle cash accurately.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and walk 3 miles in varying weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and welcoming environment at Blair Visitor Center.
• Support retail, food service, admissions operations; restock supplies; keep area clean.
• Process cash and card transactions; generate related reports.
• Promote, sell, and renew memberships.
• Assist with planning and operations of special events.
• Open/close Spurlino Foundation Discovery Center; maintain exhibits.
• Provide admin assistance; merchandise entry and deposits.
• Support online and in-center promotions and ticketing.
• Open/close the boardwalk as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of sanctuary ecology and Audubon policies.
