Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking a Venue Operations Associate to support the Peoria Sports Complex and Rio Vista Recreation Center. This seasonal, non-benefited role offers exposure to ticket sales, partnerships, and event operations within professional sports and municipal recreation.

Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, customer-service excellence, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays from October through April, with peak Spring Training hours in January–March.

Qualifications

  • Education: 4-year college degree preferred; undergrad in Sports Management, Marketing, Recreation or related field encouraged to apply.
  • Experience: Prior work in sports, entertainment, or venue management preferred.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must complete City training within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Generate ticket sales via outbound calls for Spring Training games (season, group, and fundraising tickets).
  • Support day-to-day ticket office operations and staff scheduling.
  • Provide in-person and phone customer service for digital tickets, seating, and inquiries.
  • Assist with partnerships, production, and gameday operations and events.
  • Supervise part-time staff and coordinate game-day duties and setup/teardown.
