Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking a Venue Operations Associate to support the Peoria Sports Complex and Rio Vista Recreation Center. This seasonal, non-benefited role offers exposure to ticket sales, partnerships, and event operations within professional sports and municipal recreation.

Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, customer-service excellence, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays from October through April, with peak Spring Training hours in January–March.

Qualifications

Education: 4-year college degree preferred; undergrad in Sports Management, Marketing, Recreation or related field encouraged to apply.
Experience: Prior work in sports, entertainment, or venue management preferred.
Must be at least 16 years old.
Must complete City training within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

Generate ticket sales via outbound calls for Spring Training games (season, group, and fundraising tickets).
Support day-to-day ticket office operations and staff scheduling.
Provide in-person and phone customer service for digital tickets, seating, and inquiries.
Assist with partnerships, production, and gameday operations and events.
Supervise part-time staff and coordinate game-day duties and setup/teardown.
