Job summary

Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, is seeking Seasonal Agricultural Workers for the Department of Plant Biology. Work includes turfgrass field and greenhouse management, disease control program development, chemical application, and lab experiments.

On-site, 40-hour days with full-time seasonal appointments. Preferred candidates may have a Bachelor's in Agricultural Science and lab technique knowledge; immunization and pre-employment screenings are required.

Qualifications

• High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of wet and dry lab techniques, such as DNA extraction from turfgrass samples, digital PCR, and statistical analysis.
• The tasks will be performed in the field, greenhouse and laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

• Works with turfgrass pathologist(s) in the Center of Turfgrass Sciences at Rutgers University.
• Conducts turfgrass field and greenhouse management, disease control program development, agricultural chemical application and disease control efficacy evaluation.
• Conducts day-to-day field and laboratory experiments using ARM software for project management.
