Job summary

Ulster Savings Bank is seeking a Tax Services coordinator to support client administration, review individual federal and state income tax returns, and assist with bookkeeping and accounting services. You will use tax software to organize documents, support efficient workflows, and maintain confidentiality while delivering responsive client service.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing individual federal and state income tax returns.
• Experience using tax preparation and accounting software to organize client documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities during tax season.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional client focus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate intake, organization, scanning, and secure storage of client tax documents.
• Submit documents through approved automation workflows and verify accuracy before use in tax return preparation.
• Answer calls, greet clients, schedule appointments, and distribute completed returns.
• Perform accounts receivable activities including billing and monitoring outstanding balances.
• Complete monthly transaction recording and account reconciliations as assigned.
• Prepare Forms 1099 and 1096 and ensure timely submission.
• Protect client information and maintain organized records per privacy procedures.
• Refer clients to appropriate bank products or services.
