Qualifications

• 7 years of relevant experience required.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
• CPA is required (JD or Enrolled Agent is acceptable in lieu).

Responsibilities

• Review prepared tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, or trusts, checking for errors or discrepancies.
• Provide guidance to tax preparers on tax matters and act as a technical resource for complex tax questions.
• Interface with client personnel to review and apply accounting and tax principles.
• Contact clients by phone or email to gather necessary information.
• Review files to ensure necessary signatures and documentation and compliance with filing due dates.
• Obtain proper filing extensions when necessary.
• Perform detailed review on tax returns, research, and compliance work with emphasis on calculations and tax law.
• Maintain compliance with firm policies and procedures.
• Conduct complex tax research and stay current with tax laws and regulations.
• Assist clients with tax planning and business strategy.
• Provide training and supervision to junior family members.
