Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. You will prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients to understand their finances, and offer clear, personalized recommendations.

This in-person role emphasizes building trusted client relationships, identifying tax savings opportunities, and providing support through tax notices and audits.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and build trusted client relationships
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a client-focused office environment
