Job summary

H&R Block in Ohio is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training from experienced teammates. You’ll explain tax concepts clearly and help identify savings opportunities while building strong client relationships.

This in-person role offers on-site work at a local tax office, with an hourly rate and opportunities to earn more as tax knowledge grows.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
