Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate in Ohio. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with support from experienced teammates. You will explain tax concepts clearly and identify potential savings opportunities to offer relevant products and services.

This in-person role offers a competitive hourly rate with training from day one and opportunities to grow tax knowledge. Availability for evenings and weekends during peak tax season is common.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications: Successful completion of H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
