H&R Block in Ohio is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and learn with guidance from experienced teammates.

The role offers an hourly rate with opportunities to grow as you build tax knowledge and service clients during tax season. No prior tax experience is required—the position includes training and day-one support to help you understand tax basics, explain options, and build relationships

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
