Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns with training, and respond to questions while building client relationships.

No prior tax experience needed; a competitive hourly rate applies. Availability up to 40 hours during peak periods, including evenings and weekends during tax season, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completed the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication: explains information clearly and asks questions to understand needs.
• Problem solving: organizes information and identifies solutions.
• Comfort with digital tools and AI-based systems (Copilot, ChatGPT).
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and advise on relevant products/services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities.
