Job summary

H&R Block in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to gain hands-on tax and client-service experience. You will meet clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and guidance from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience required. You’ll learn tax concepts, receive ongoing support, and have an opportunity to increase earnings as you build knowledge. This is an in-person, local-office role during tax season.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course 1
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
