Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complex tax returns and guide clients through tax planning in a local office.

You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and deliver consultative service with accurate, compliant results. In this role you will build lasting relationships, offer product recommendations, and support clients through IRS notices when needed, leveraging industry-leading training and tools.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax prep, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, incl. individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
