Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional in Indiana to prepare complete tax returns for clients with complex situations, conduct client interviews, and provide personalized tax guidance. You will build lasting client relationships, identify savings opportunities, and deliver consultative service backed by strong training and technology.

This in-person role offers a competitive hourly rate and incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications and provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and related H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
