Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns and advise clients through complex tax situations. This in-person, seasonal role focuses on building lasting relationships while leveraging our training and technology to maximize savings opportunities.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in tax or related fields, strong communication skills, and a commitment to ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 1+ year of tax preparation/accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
