Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns for clients with complex situations. You will interview clients to understand finances and offer personalized recommendations, building relationships while identifying tax savings opportunities and recommending H&R Block products.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations, including individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and life changes, then provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted relationships by offering empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive client-focused office environment
