Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients with complex tax situations, prepare returns, and identify savings opportunities. You will interview clients, deliver personalized recommendations, and build lasting relationships in a busy local office.

Requires 1+ year in tax prep, strong communication, and ability to meet IRS/state CE requirements. In-person role with opportunities for growth and incentives based on performance.

Qualifications

• Completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related field.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations (individuals and businesses).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and provide personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and HR Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
