Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations and prepare accurate returns. You will conduct in-depth client interviews, offer personalized recommendations, and identify tax-saving opportunities using HR Block products.

This is an in-person at a local HR Block tax office role with industry-leading training, a competitive hourly rate, and an incentive plan based on your impact as you grow in tax and financial services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; explain tax concepts to clients in plain language.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and HR Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
