Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence at a local office. You will prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships, backed by training and technology and a competitive hourly rate with an incentive plan.

This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, with opportunities to grow in tax and financial services through the season.

Qualifications

• Required: Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields, including individual and business returns
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory roles
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and provide personalized recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
