Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns and uncover savings for clients in a local tax office.

You will interview clients, offer personalized guidance, and support IRS matters using training and technology to deliver confident, compliant service. Ideal candidates have 1+ year of tax experience, strong communication, and a commitment to ongoing education and professional standards, with a focus on client relationships and tax savings

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment 1.
• At least 1 year of tax preparation experience including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience handling complex returns and tax planning.
• Familiarity with tax advisory client relationships.
• Awareness of IRS Circular 230 and credential requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to assess finances and tax implications.
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, notices, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive client-focused office.
