Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns and advise clients on tax savings opportunities.

You will interview clients, explain complex concepts in client-friendly terms, and build lasting relationships while leveraging training and technology. This in-person role offers a competitive hourly rate and an incentive plan to reward impact as you grow in tax expertise.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain tax concepts simply
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
