H&R Block in Illinois is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to act as a trusted advisor, preparing complete and accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses while providing personalized recommendations.

You will interview clients to understand financial situations, identify tax savings opportunities, and deliver empathetic, guidance on products and IRS notices, all in a collaborative, client-focused office environment in Springfield.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields
• Experience in client-facing advisory roles
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
