Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate in Memphis to start a career in tax and client services. No prior tax experience is required as training and support are provided from day one, and you will work directly with clients to gather information and prepare returns.

You will meet with clients, explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong relationships while contributing to office priorities in a friendly, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based assistants such as Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment is required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
